GINA JOHAL

Gina is a Textile Design graduate from Birmingham City University who specialises in Print and Surface Pattern Design. Gina enjoys creating vibrant, contemporary prints which focus on incorporating current trends and thoughtful colour stories. Although Gina appreciates and enjoys hand crafted print processes, she favours digital print and the aesthetic qualities achieved, especially when combined with different fabric surfaces. The main skill Gina prides herself on are her CAD abilities, which she utilises in each brief she is set. Gina can work confidently within both fashion and interiors and this is shown specifically through her high quality visualisations.

During her time at university Gina's work has been exhibited at FESPA Berlin 2018 and The Print Show at the NEC Birmingham, in collaboration with Epson Europe. Her surface pattern work has also been shortlisted by StayingCool Apartments for an ongoing design collaboration.

Another passion of Gina's is social media and marketing, which allows her to promote her work and small business. Gina created her small business 'Gina Johal Designs' during lockdown 2020 where she created hand painted, eco-friendly prints and sold them via Etsy and Instagram. She enjoys keeping up with trends on different platforms in fashion and interiors.

Gina is currently in the search for post-graduate opportunities, more specifically, internships, employment and collaborations with other artists.
